2008 promises to be an exciting year for TrySports. We are planning to open 2 new stores. We have just signed our lease for Wilmington (Mayfaire Shopping Center) NC, and we are currently finalizing our lease in Raleigh (Crabtree Valley Mall) NC. Opportunities will therefore exist in both these new stores but could also arise in our two current stores in Mount Pleasant SC and Charlotte NC.

- Store Manager: {Ref: SM}
- Position Title: Store Manager.
- Reports to: Operations Manager of TrySports Corporate.
- Manages: Customer Relationship Executive (CRE) team and store performance.
- Job Description: The Store Manager has overall responsibility for the operations, administration and success of the store. Key areas of responsibility include:
- CRE Team Management (Recruitment, Roster, Remuneration etc.).
- Inventory Management (New Product Evaluation & Recommendations, Stock Supply Management, Customer Special Order Processing, Returns Processing etc.)
- Implementation of Template of Excellence (Standard Operations and Procedures, Merchandising & Store Appearance etc.).
- Sales & Marketing – Working with corporate to grow the business and develop local business and strategic partnerships.
- CRE Team Management (Recruitment, Roster, Remuneration etc.).
- Senior Customer Relationship Executive (SCRE):{Ref: SCRE}
- Position Title: Senior Customer Relationship Executive.
- Reports to: Store Manager.
- Manages: Customer Relationship Executives (CREs) and Part Time CREs.
- Job Description: The CRE is TrySports first interface with our customers and as such has primary responsibility for the customer relationship. While sales are always important, the ultimate, long-term priority for TrySports is exceptional management of our customer interface.
Store success is ultimately measured through profitability. However, the level of excellence we are striving for, with long-term growth in mind, will require achievement of store objectives across the following areas:- Customer Relationship Management.
- Customer Rewards Program.
- Sales & Net Profit.
- Operations & Administration.
- Strategic Partnerships.
- Customer Relationship Executive (CRE): {Ref: CRE}
- Position Title: Customer Relationship Executive.
- Reports to: Senior CRE.
- Job Description: The CRE is TrySports first interface with our customers and as such has primary responsibility for the customer relationship. While sales are always important, the ultimate, long-term priority for TrySports is exceptional management of our customer interface.

- Position Title: Part-time Customer Relationship Executive.
- Reports to: Senior CRE.
- Job Description: The Part-time CRE works with the CRE team during busy periods and/or provides cover during other hours of operation throughout the weak.
Position Requirements
You will most likely be a university graduate and you must have a passion for at least one of our sports. Flexibility is important but the right candidates will know what is required for these positions. While you will receive early responsibility, you will be coached on a fast track training program in all the key functions of our business. You do not need previous retail experience; in fact previous experience in a mediocre customer service environment would probably be a disadvantage! However you must be able to demonstrate why you believe you will excel at TrySports.
For all our positions, we are seeking candidates with the following abilities:
- Selling: has ability to sell our products/services, confident in our pricing strategy without the need for discounting over and above our normal rewards, incentives and promotions.
- Wow Customers: identifies with our mission to wow our customers through consistently outstanding service and interaction. Constantly looks for new ways to do this.
- Knowledge: has an excellent background of relevant experience of at least one of our major divisions: running, cycling and triathlon.
- Problem Solving: quickly identifies customer problems and dissatisfaction and user knowledge and ingenuity to solve these issues.
- Goal Oriented: sets SMART (specific, measurable, agreed, realistic and timed) goals and achieves them.
- Attention to Detail: understands the importance of getting things done correctly first time and operates with that objective in mind at all times.
- Experience: Depending on the role applied for, ideally all candidates should have some if not multiple years of retail experience, and a proven track record in the position they are applying for.
- Education: While not essential, candidates with a background or education in exercise science, athletic training, health promotion or kinesology are ideal.
