How's Your Ride Doing?

Check our our TrySports Bike Maintanence Schedule to make sure you are keeping up with necessary tasks to make sure you get the most out of your ride:

Every Ride
1. Check pressure in tires
2. Check tires for tread cuts
3. Check brakes
4. Bounce bike listening for rattles and odd noises, such as a loose headset
5. Spin pedals backwards, note a squeaky or dry chain. Lubricate if necessary
6. Clean/wash chain if very gritty and dirty

Every 100 Miles
1. Check chain stretch
2. Inspect cable for cuts
3. Clean chain/lubricate
4. Inspect brake pads for wear
5. Inspect tires for tread wear
6. Check for bearing play in wheel hubs

Every 500 Miles
1. Check cranks for play in the bottom bracket bearings
2. Lubricate pivot points
3. Lubricate brake and shifter cables
4. Check crank bolts
5. Check cleat bolts on riders shoes
6. Inspect frame for cracks

Every 1000 Miles
1. Check rims for wear if using caliper brakes
2. Overhaul bearings if ridden in muddy or hard conditions
3. Remove seat post and clean. Re-grease as appropriate.

Every 3000 Miles
1. Grease bearings if non-cartridge
2. Remove tires and inspect rim strip
3. Install new cables and housing
4. Replace cartridge bearings if worn or play is present
