Favorite Race or Event: 2008 Beach2Battleship 140.6... my first full iron distance tri!

Favorite Post Race Meal: Usually just about anything at the finish line table and a tall, cold glass of recoverite.

Favorite Running Shoe: the ones that I PR in ;) .....but for now its the mizuno rider and the newton gravity

Most Memorable Moment/Achievement: My most memorable moment would go along with my favorite event, the B2B 140.6. What a crazy experience...I loved the race being in Wilmington and being able to experience it with friends and family. So surreal at the finish line, I just really couldn't believe what I had done, and that I had finished!

Best part about working at TrySports: Meeting new people/beginner athletes and getting them stoked on racing, running, training, triathlon, and TrySports!

Most memorable moment or Achievement: Going from 240lbs to 170lbs, using only healthy diet and exercise, no drugs, no surgery!

Favorite Race or Event: 26.2 Our Quintiles Marathon was great, because I saw so many people I knew running, and in the cheering crowd.

Favorite Post Race Meal: Sweet Potato Pancakes

Favorite Running Shoe: Brooks Launch is rocking my world right now.

Favorite Running Partner: My five pound pomeranian is speedy, and she makes a great bodyguard.

Favorite Running Music: The heavier the metal, the better.  m/ Hatebreed, Lamb of God, Slayer, Gojira, and Gollum are some personal faves!

Achievements/Most Memorable Moment: I qualified for Boston at the NYC Marathon in 2009! It was especially gratifying, because the pace setter I ran with told me it would be really difficult to qualify. He told me not to get my hopes up, since it was only my second marathon. I ran ahead of him right at the very end, just as I qualified! If you believe in yourself, you certainly can achieve!! I also hiked to the top of Kilimanjaro in 2006. The last eight-hour ascent was the most grueling part for me, but ultimately led to a physical/mental accomplishment, as we spent hours doing switchbacks in high altitudes. Anytime I have a long run or long distance race coming up I can now think "At least I'm not trying to get to the top of Kilimanjaro." Thank goodness!

Best part about working at TrySports: There are so many great things about working at TrySports! I really enjoy working with our customers and seeing them complete their goals. I am always really proud of them!

Favorite Pre/Post Race Meal: My favorite pre race food is a pb & j. After a long run or race, I love greek yogurt with almonds, macademia nuts and blueberrries.

Favorite Running Shoe: My favorite running shoe right now is the Brooks Green Silence.

Most Memorable Moment/Achievement: My most memorable athletic achievement was training for & finishing my first half marathon. I signed up for the Inaugural Battleship Half Marathon in Wilmington with my step-mom.... I was a new runner and had no idea how to train for a long race. With her help, and occasionally pushing a double jogging stroller with my two little sisters in tow, I gradually increased my weekly miles and long runs until race day. It was such a feeling of accomplishment not only to cross the finish line, but also to complete each daily run. The discpline impacted every aspect of my life. Increasing my weekly mileage also greatly improved my fitness level and ability to run! It felt like I finally became a 'runner' and began to enjoy the benefits of all the road time. This still motivates me while training today, 13 years and 3 children later!

Best Part About Working for TrySports: Running with the Walk2Run Group is definitely my favorite thing about working @ TrySports. It is so great to watch the progress of all the participants, especially when they complete their first 5k...What an inspiration!!
